Are you prepared to embark on a journey but unsure of where to start? Don't worry, we're here to assist you. The first step to becoming a travel nurse is to set up your account. Once your profile is complete, a recruiter will reach out to guide you through the process of beginning your travel nursing adventure. Your recruiter will take the time to understand your goals and work with you to develop a strategic plan to secure an assignment. Throughout your travel career, your recruiter will be your trusted companion, helping you find assignments that align with your needs. Once you're registered, your recruiter will collaborate with you to find the perfect job that suits you best!

Although each travel nurse assignment may have unique facility requirements, there are several essential prerequisites that every traveller must meet:

• 1. Possess a minimum of one year of nursing experience in your specialized field, preferably gained in a hospital environment.
• 2. Maintain an active state nursing license. Our dedicated team will assist you throughout the application process for any state, and in many cases, we can expedite the procedure.
• 3. Hold preferred certifications from the American Heart Association, such as ACLS, BLS, and others (specific certifications vary depending on your speciality).
• 4. Demonstrate willingness to commit to a full-time travel assignment, which typically entails working at least 36 hours per week.

There is no strict timeline for when to apply as a travel nurse. You have the flexibility to apply well in advance or closer to your desired departure date. We have seen different scenarios with our nurses. If you are certain that you are ready to travel or will be ready soon, we encourage you to complete an application. This way, you will be prepared to seize the right opportunity when it comes along. If you choose to apply well ahead of your intended travel time, we will retain your information and maintain communication with you until you are ready to proceed.

Assignments, which are sometimes referred to as contracts, come in various durations, but they typically span around 13 weeks. However, it's possible to find assignments that are both longer and shorter than this standard timeframe. One of the greatest advantages of travel nursing is the flexibility it offers. You have the freedom to take breaks between assignments without any constraints. Unlike staff positions where taking three weeks off is uncommon, as a traveler, you have the autonomy to decide how frequently and how soon you take on new assignments. Once you have set up a profile with us, you can log into your account and search for contracts based on their specific length.
